The San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles set up to be one of the best NFL games of the season heading into Sunday’s clash of the NFC titans. But, the 49ers’ dominant 42-19 win in Philadelphia was overshadowed by what happened on the sideline involving San Franciso 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw and a security official for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Take a look.

That’s something you don’t see every day, that’s for sure. Greenlaw was ejected from the game, as was DiSandro. DiSandro is a longtime employee of the team, and is close with many of the Eagles’ players. He’s not just some random security guard.

But, there’s no excuse for a team staffer to get involved in a situation like that. It’s simply unprofessional and unbecoming of both the Philadelphia Eagles and the league itself. It just can’t happen, no matter what.

And, San Francisco 49ers’ coach Kyle Shanahan agreed. He was incensed after the game about the entire situation. Take a listen.

He’s 100% right. That kind of taunting cannot take place by someone who isn’t even playing in the game is, frankly, a joke. I don’t think DiSandro should be banned from the league for life, but there should be a serious penalty handed down here to both him and the Eagles in terms of a suspension for DiSandro and a fine for the franchise.

It does sound like a significant penalty will be coming.
