Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Devon Allen impressed on the track once again, running the fourth-fastest time in the 110-meter hurdles in 2023.

Allen showcased his incredible speed and agility at the USATF NYC Grand Prix, crossing the finish line in an impressive time of 13.04 seconds.

While he narrowly missed out on first place, finishing second behind Daniel Roberts, who posted a time of 13.01 seconds, Allen’s performance solidified his position as one of the top hurdlers in the world.

Throughout the year, Allen has consistently improved his times in the 110-meter hurdles. He kicked off his season at the Penn Relays in April, where he clinched victory with a time of 13.46 seconds. Since then, Allen has made remarkable progress, achieving faster and faster times in each subsequent competition.

The 28-year-old athlete spent last season on the Eagles’ practice squad after joining the team in April. Prior to his football stint, Allen’s last appearance in the sport was back in 2016 when he played for the University of Oregon.

Following that, he temporarily put his football career on hold to pursue track and field. In the past two Olympics, he secured respectable fifth and fourth-place finishes in the 110-meter hurdles.

During a broadcast with NBC Sports, Allen was asked about managing the demands of juggling both football and track and field. He expressed satisfaction with how things were progressing, acknowledging the difficulties of balancing the two sports but emphasizing the enjoyment he derives from the challenge.

Allen also highlighted the significance of competing against high-caliber athletes in top-tier competitions, recognizing the competitive nature of his achievements with times of 13.01 and 13.04 seconds.

Devon Allen’s remarkable performances on the track continue to captivate audiences and showcase his exceptional talents as both a football player and a hurdler.

As he competes in upcoming events and faces the challenging decision between track and field glory and his NFL career, fans eagerly await the next chapter in this exceptional athlete’s journey.
