Jersey sales are a significant source of revenue for professional sports franchises, and most teams introduce alternate options on a regular basis in the hopes of drumming up more revenue. That includes the NHL teams that will reportedly release a “Hometown Remix” line next season, and it looks like we’ve gotten our first glimpse at some of those designs after they popped up on eBay.

Most sports teams have a home and away jersey that serve as the uniform they wear for the vast majority of games over the course of a season. However, in the 1970s, NBA and MLB squads started to experiment with alternate designs, and the NHL got in on the action in the mid-1990s before the NFL started to fully embrace them shortly after the turn of the millennium.

Most of the clubs that comprise the world’s premier hockey league have adopted a steady rotation of sweaters that incorporates throwbacks and jerseys whipped up for themed nights, anniversaries, and marquee matchups like the Stadium Series and the Winter Classic.

In January, a Reddit user who said they work for a “a hockey retailer” in the United States asserted the NHL was gearing up for its own take on the NBA’s “City Connect” jerseys with what a Fanatics trademark filing suggests has been dubbed the “Hometown Remix” collection.

Those jerseys are reportedly set to debut during the 2026-27 season, and while they have not been officially revealed, it appears a couple of them have leaked after being listed on eBay.

The “Hometown Remix” jerseys for the Islanders and Panthers seemingly popped up for sale on eBay

The Reddit user in question was able to provide some information concerning the primary color of the Hometown Remix jerseys, but it seemed safe to assume we’d have to wait until later this year to see what they look like.

However, things took an interesting turn last week when multiple eBay accounts listed a Panthers jersey that was positioned as a “sample prototype,” which featured the pink scheme that had not officially gone on sale before (they were both priced at $350 before being sold).

One of those users goes by the handle “OMH,” which has cemented itself as the Hometown Remix plug after listing another unreleased Islanders jersey for $450, one that suggests the so-called “Gorton’s Fisherman” logo is on the verge of returning.

It will be interesting to see if any more surface before they’re stopped by the team of highly-skilled assassins Gary Bettman has undoubtedly tasked with tracking the seller down if these are indeed the Hometown Remix jerseys that are set to roll out.
