The Missouri football team fell to Alabama in blowout fashion on Saturday, losing 34-0 in Tuscaloosa. Tigers head coach Eli Drinkwitz was not happy with the Crimson Tide early on in that loss.

In the first quarter of action, he was seen cussing at Alabama players from the sidelines. The reaction stemmed from what he viewed as a dirty play by the opposing defense.

Mizzou QB Brady Cook made the start despite playing at less than 100%. The signal caller had been hurt in the Tigers‘ previous matchup with Auburn, putting his status for the Alabama game in doubt.

Cook missed a large portion of that Auburn contest while being treated for an ankle injury, though he ultimately checked himself out of the hospital to return to the field and lead a Missouri comeback.

On Saturday, the Tigers committed a delay of game penalty against Alabama, though referees failed to blow a whistle after the ball was snapped late.

Believing that the play was live, LT Overton tackled an unsuspecting Cook after the fact. He was called for unnecessary roughness, leading to an animated response from Eli Drinkwitz.

The disrespect didn’t go unnoticed!

At the end of the game, the Tigers attempted to put points on the board while trailing 34-0 in the fourth quarter. Alabama put its starting defense back on the field in order to prevent Missouri from crossing the goal line.

Shutout preserved!

With the win, Alabama shook the struggles seen across the month of October. They’ve positioned themselves for a potential College Football Playoff run, though they likely need to win out in order to make the 12-team field.
