Saquon Barkley signed a 1-year, $10M contract with the New York Giants and is then set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2024 at 27 years old.
The average age of retirement in the NFL is 27 but league-wide, running backs have an older average age of 28.5 so Saquon still has some great years ahead of him. And if his latest workout video is any indication, Barkley’s best season is yet to come.
Eli Manning took notice of Saquon Barkley‘s impressive leg workout. The younger Manning Brother had jokes. Eli wants the people to believe that he was once a picture of perfect physical condition like Saquon is here.
After seeing Saquon squat 585 pounds as ‘light work’, Eli Manning joked that they didn’t have camera phones back in his day…
I used to squat the same weight. We just did not have camera phones back then. https://t.co/D07gtHmCPh

It wasn’t until 2003 that camera phones became popular worldwide. Eli Manning signed with the New York Giants in the 2004 NFL Draft. So there’s actually some truth to his claim because like many geriatric millennials, Eli Manning didn’t have camera phones for pretty much his entire college experience.
In response to Eli Manning‘s joke, people had thoughts:
“I heard Chad Powers did more …”
“Looked easy!”
“As I remember you did lots of 16oz. curls.”
“Totally. I still have my 6 pack, I just keep it cold now.”
Here’s to hoping that Saquan Barkley has a banner year so he can get paid and stick with the Giants. I’m no Giants fan but I always love seeing players stick with their teams long-term like Saquan has.
