New Report Suggests That Elon Musk Could Buy Premier League Giant Manchester United

Despite a lack of recent success, Manchester United is still considered by many to be the biggest club in English soccer.

The Premier League giants have won a record 20 league championships and are still one of the world’s most recognizable brands.

And they may soon owned by Twitter CEO and the world’s second-richest man, Elon Musk. At least if the latest reports are to be believed.

Mike Keegan of The Daily Mail reports that Musk is “monitoring the situation closely” and could make a bid prior to Friday’s deadline.

Elon Musk likes money and madness. He also likes Manchester United – and is one of a select few who could afford to buy them.

According to sources, the tech-billionaire is believed to be monitoring the situation closely, and wondering if there is an opportunity at Old Trafford that he should not miss.

With Friday’s deadline for bids rapidly approaching – is the man Forbes rank as the second-richest in the world about to make his move for the football club they have crowned the biggest?

The Red Devils are currently owned by the Glazer family, which also owns the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But the American owners are not well-liked in Manchester and put the club up for sale in November.

Though there is some skepticism around whether a full sale will actually take place.

Elon Musk Previously Tweeted About Purchasing The Club.

Musk’s interest in the club may come as a surprise to some. But it shouldn’t be a surprise to those who have paid attention. He teased the purchase back in August with a tweet that saying “also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome.”

Musk later revealed that United was his favorite club as a kid. But if the billionaire hates the abuse he gets as a Twitter owner, maybe sports ownership isn’t the best option.
