During a recent talk with media, Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera revealed that some players have complained about Eric Bieniemy’s intensity.

Some players went to bat for Bieniemy, like Tyreek Hill, who worked alongside the offensive coordinator while playing for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Now, after some of the dust has settled, Eric Bieniemy addresses the reports about Commanders players complaining about him.

Robert Griffin III shares a video of Bieniemy talking with the media about the situation in Washington. Based on his demeanor and poise, the long-time offensive coordinator comes off level headed and straight forward.

Here is his full response.

If anything, this is a great response from Bieniemy. Maybe he brings a different level of intensity that some Commanders players aren’t used to. But you’d think that’s a good thing, right?

It’s been a hot minute since Washington was relevant in the NFL. So, bringing in a coach with Super Bowl winning experience should create much needed change within the organization.

This very well could be growing pains for the Commanders right now, as they’re simply not used to the fire Eric Bieniemy is bringing to the table. But if the players buy in, it could result in major success for this team.

With that said, only time will tell if Bieniemy’s tenure in Washington pays off or not.

He’s been seeking a head coaching position for several years now but no club has given him the opportunity. Signing with the Commanders gives Eric Bieniemy the chance to at least prove himself as a play caller in the NFL.

If he can calm the storm in Washington and get players to follow through with his coaching style, then perhaps a head coaching job is in Bieniemy’s future after all.
