On Monday many Instagram/Twitter users, have been flooding social media with images of black squares for “Blackout Tuesday” as a show of solidarity with the black community and protests over racial injustice.
Several NFL teams joined in on the Blackout Tuesday trend including the San Francisco 49ers who posted a black box with “Black Lives Matter” caption.

Former San Francisco 49ers safety and current free agent Eric Reid took offense to the Niners using the “Blackout Tuesday” hashtag on social media. Reid blasted the team he feels took part in blackballing Colin Kaepernick from the NFL as punishment for taking a knee to protest police brutality during games.
I think you meant Blackball Tuesday…I digress https://t.co/S0r7IHd7DZ

Hypocrisy: the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform; pretense.

Reid has been critical of 49ers owner Jed York, who donated money earlier this week to local and national organizations “creating change” within the black community.
Nobody wants your money Jed. We want justice. We’ve always wanted justice. Y’all are truly diluted. https://t.co/wWLEpDF3nt

You speak based on your experience and I understand that. However, I can tell you that you never heard him say “don’t kneel” because you never knelt. He begged me not to kneel. https://t.co/UrNPW3YzOG

Reid wasn’t the only one to call out the Niners for using the Blackout Tuesday black box.

You can’t be serious after how you treated @Kaepernick7
You oppressed a black man kneeling for criminal and social injustice.
We should forever #BlackOut @NFL https://t.co/5eCtFtMsf6
