ESPN’s partnership with Moderna led to an awkward situation at the end of the US Open.
Novak Djokovic, who was unable to play in last year’s US Open due to his unvaccinated status, won this year’s Open in straight sets vs Daniil Medvedev.

At the end of the tourney, Djokovic was awarded Moderna’s “shot of the day” by ESPN, which led to fans blasting the promotion for how ridiculous it was.
WHAT IRONY!
ESPN just featured the ‘Moderna Shot of the Day’ by the only player who refused the 'vaccine': @DjokerNole.

ESPN should have probably reconsidered airing the “Moderna shot of the day” for Djokovic, who has been a vocal critic of the vaccine.
