15 days. We are exactly 15 days away from the start of the 2021 college football season.

As the sweet sound of pads smacking begins to ring in our dreams, ESPN has contributed its audio adrenaline for the season. The Worldwide Leader in Sports announced its new college football theme song and it will send you running through the nearest wall.

After using Juice WRLD and Marshmello’s ‘Come & Go’ in 2020, Judah & The Lion’s ‘Let Go’ in 2019, and Imagine Dragons’ ‘Natural’ in 2018, this year’s anthem is miles ahead of its predecessors.

Released on Friday, DJ Snake joins forces with Rick Ross and Rich Brian for ‘Run It’ and it’s beyond hype. On top of the very hype soundtrack, the edit is exhilarating.

The video starts off by setting the scene with a lot of crispy pregame and fan shots. When the chorus hits and beat drops, it’s all slobberknockers.

Finally making the right choice.

“The right music can elevate the sense of excitement for college football all season long,” ESPN senior director of sports marketing Curtis Friends said in a statement. “This energetic and unique anthem will once again set the tone for the college football season; ‘Run It’ from DJ Snake, Rick Ross & Rich Brian captures the intensity that fans, teams and players feel about the sport, and we can’t wait for them to hear it.”

I would completely agree with the sentiment that the tone is set for the first season with full capacity stadiums since 2019. It couldn’t be more exciting.

However, to say “once again” is a stretch, seeing as Imagine Dragons, Judah & The Lion and Juice WRLD didn’t quite have the same effect. ‘Run It,’ on the other hand, is an excellentt choice and has me ready for the most wonderful time of the year.
