The ESPN layoffs have been absolutely brutal.

On Friday, the NY Post’s Andrew Marchand reported that ESPN would lay off 20 on-air personalities in a cost-cutting maneuver.

ESPN is laying off some of its biggest stars, including Jeff Van Gundy, Max Kellerman, Keyshawn Johnson, Suzy Kolber, and Jalen Rose, in a purge that is expected to result in around 20 on-air personalities being let go Friday as the network hopes to save tens of millions of dollars, The Post has learned.

The hope is by cutting those making in excess of seven figures per year, ESPN would be able to save more behind-the-scenes people.

Not everyone who will be let go will make more than a million bucks per year.

Some of the big names being let go are Jeff Van Gundy, Jalen Rose, Suzy Kolber, Steve Young, Keyshawn Johnson, and many more.

One person let go was SportsCenter anchor Ashley Brewer, who said goodbye to ESPN in a Twitter post.

“I am so grateful for my time at ESPN and the opportunity to host Sportscenter. I learned and grew so much as a broadcaster and person. I will really miss all of the wonderful friends I made along the way.
I know God has a plan for my life and I look forward to what’s next.”

Ashley also revealed that she was getting ready to get married next week when she heard the news of her firing.

Brewer is set to get married to NBA player Frank Kaminsky which likely means the couple won’t be hurting for money, but it’s still terrible that she got laid off a week before her wedding day.
