We’re in the doldrums of the NBA season. The playoff picture is starting to take shape, and attention has focused towards getting ready for the NBA Playoff in mid-April.

But, every once in a while, we will get a good story in the soap opera that is the NBA. That’s what we have on Wednesday, as two NBA players have reportedly got in a fight prior to a game.

Shams Charania of the Athletic reported the following.

Sources: Detroit Pistons F/C Isaiah Stewart punched Phoenix’s Drew Eubanks in the back tunnels of Suns arena today. It’s unclear what sparked the altercation. The NBA is expected to receive footage to review. More to come.

Both Stewart and Eubanks were going chest-to-chest before a swing to Eubanks’ face connected on Wednesday, sources said. Both were separated and there is police presence involved with the situation in Phoenix tonight.

Wait, police presence involved for a fistfight? How serious was this incident?

This is not the first time that Isaiah Stewart has been in an incident like this. Most notably, Stewart got into a kerfuffle with LeBron James In November 2021. As for Eubanks, this does not seem like a typical kind of incident for him, based on his NBA career.

During the game, Suns superstar Devin Booker was ejected after picking up his second technical foul on this controversial play.

The Pistons have been awful this year, and sit at 8-44 with 30 games left to play. The Suns are 32-22, sitting in the fifth spot in the Western Conference Standings.
