Manchester United returned to Premier League action on Saturday and hosted Everton at Old Trafford. After finding the net in the 43rd minute, the Red Devils allowed an equalizer in the second half and played to a draw.

It was a disappointing result, and the way in which it happened was the twist of the dagger. Everton’s Andros Townsend went full savage mode and mocked Cristiano Ronaldo on his home turf.

After scoring in the 64th minute, Townsend ran to the corner and mimicked CR7’s iconic ‘Siuuu’ celebration.

Ronaldo signed with Man U at the end of August and the results have been disappointing thus far. He is 2-2-1 through five matches with the club.

For Townsend to perform Ronaldo’s celebration was just the demoralizing icing on top. The goal, however, was rather thrilling.

Demarai Gray won the ball with a strong challenge and began the counter-attack. He set Abdoulaye Coucoure away, the midfielder broke through the United back-line and then found Townsend, who calmly slotted the ball with his weak foot into the bottom corner.

The strike sent Everton fans into a frenzy and Townsend set off in their direction to celebrate. When the winger reached the corner, he spun his finger, leapt and twirled in the air.

Upon landing, he bellowed “siuuuuuuuuu!’ as Ronaldo does.

It was a ruthless, savage decision and the result held, so it didn’t end up looking foolish. Instead, Townsend will forever be a villain at Old Trafford.
