In recent years at the Men’s College World Series, there is a tradition that has captivated sports fans around the country.

A bar in Omaha has been hosting a competition for fans of the teams competing in each year’s iteration of the tournament.

The competition pits fans from each team against each other to see who can consume the most Jell-O shots over the course of the entire College World Series.

Today, the unthinkable happened.

Rocco’s Pizza and Cantina has run out of Jell-O Shots.

Luckily, the bar running out of Jell-O shots likely isn’t going to impact the competition as that had just about been settled already.

LSU Tigers fans have consumed an unbelievable amount of them at this year’s College World Series.

Earlier today, the Tigers faithful were leading the competition with more than 37,000 shots over the course of the College World Series. Their closest competition so far has been Wake Forest, whose fans are responsible for the purchase of 7600 shots.

The Demon Deacons have already been eliminated, making it unlikely they were going to close the gap.

The shortage also isn’t going to stop LSU fans from chasing history. They’ve already broken the record for Jell-O shots in a single College World Series, which was previously held by Ole Miss and their 18,777 from last season.

According to the bar’s post, they are working on restocking.

Hopefully they have plenty more shots on the way for the next couple of days as there may be quite a few more ordered before the MCWS is finished.

LSU is one of the two remaining teams in the tournament and if they win, it seems likely that their fans may look to further distance themselves from the rest of college baseball in the Jell-O shot record books.
