A 53-year-old man tragically lost his life while attending the Patriots’ home game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday night, according to TMZ.
The incident occurred in the 308/309 section at Gillette Stadium around 11 PM, during the closing minutes of New England’s 24-17 loss to the Dolphins on Week 2 of the NFL season.
According to reports, the man experienced what officials are describing as an “apparent medical event.”
He was immediately rushed to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, where he was sadly pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed at this time.
The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office has confirmed that an ongoing investigation into the incident is in its preliminary stages.
State police detectives assigned to the DA’s office are assisting police with the ongoing investigation.
As of now, no charges have been filed, and further details surrounding the tragic incident remain undisclosed.
