Fans Absolutely Destroy Kadarius Toney For Making Fun Of New York Giants

The New York Giants had a no good, very bad start to the NFL season on Sunday night.

And former Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney made sure that everybody knew about it.

But there was just one problem: Toney’s start to the season was somehow even worse, and fans weren’t about to let him forget it.

New York welcomed division rival Dallas to MetLife Stadium on Sunday night as it began the 2023 season with high hopes.

Those hopes were quickly dashed after the Cowboys spanked the Giants to the tune of a 40-0 victory. New York didn’t just lose. It did so in historic fashion, as OptaSTATS laid out:

  • Lost the game by 40 points or more
  • Lost the sack battle 7-0 or worse
  • Lost the turnover battle 3-0 or worse
  • Had a field goal blocked and returned for a touchdown
  • Threw a pick-six

No team had ever done each of those things in a single season. New York did it in a single night!

“We’re certainly frustrated and extremely disappointed with how we performed tonight. I know I certainly am with myself. A lot to work on and clean up. We’re going to be critical of ourselves and look to correct it and get back on the right page,” Giants quarterback Daniel Jones said afterward.

Toney, a first round pick of the Giants in the 2021 NFL Draft, was traded last season after disagreements about his playing time and usage.

Fans were not particularly fond of the way the wideout left New York.

But after the brutal opening night performance, Toney thought it was the perfect time to get one over on his former team.

There’s just one problem: Toney himself was awful in Kansas City’s Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions.

And Giants fans were quick to remind him about his own putrid performance.

Even national media members got in on the fun.

What an incredible lack of self-awareness. But then again, that seems to be Toney’s whole deal.
