We are now in Week 8 of the NFL season. As we head into the second half of the fantasy football regular season, injuries once again made an impact last week and we have sorted it out. Whether you’re dealing with players on a bye or injuries we have options for you and other lineup questions in this week’s starts and sits

Quarterbacks

Starts

Ryan Tannehill at Cincinnati Bengals

Tannehill continues to be a top fantasy quarterback as he ranks QB11 on the year and has only posted one game under 17 fantasy points. He’s thrown for multiple touchdowns in four of five games and faces a Bengals defense that has allowed opposing quarterbacks to throw for multiple touchdowns in four of six games this year.

Teddy Bridgewater vs. Atlanta Falcons

Teddy Two Gloves has really stepped up as of late with 250 passing yards and two touchdowns in two of his last three games. One of those games was against the Falcons who he faces this week. The Falcons have allowed the most fantasy points to quarterbacks this year and every single one has scored at least 18 points.

Other Quarterbacks To Start: Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert, Tom Brady, Baker Mayfield, Derek Carr

Sleeper

Carson Wentz vs. Dallas Cowboys

Wentz is like that friend who starts drinking too fast too early and you think he wasn’t making it to the bar, but he surprises you and is the life of the party. Wentz was written off at the beginning of the season, and rightfully so, he was awful, but he has come on strong. Wentz sits at QB3 since Week 3, in fact, he’s just .02 fantasy points behind Patrick Mahomes in that span. He will face off against the Cowboys who’s defense is in shambles and have allowed 16 passing touchdowns and have just one interception.

Sits

Matthew Stafford vs. Indianapolis Colts

Stafford hasn’t been a fantasy star this year, but he also hasn’t been mediocre, he’s like the RC Cola of quarterbacks. He’s very much a matchup-based start and this is a tough one against an Indianapolis defense allowing the second-fewest passing touchdowns and have the most interceptions. Maybe he should just celebrate the World Series championship with high school buddy Clayton Kershaw this week instead.

Tua Tagovailoa vs. Los Angeles Rams

It’s Tua Time in South Beach as the former Alabama quarterback will make his first NFL start. I’m not fading him for the season, I think he’s going to have some great games, but the southpaw will be staring at Aaron Donald and a Rams defense with the third-most sacks in the league.

Jared Goff at Miami Dolphins

Goff has been a roller coaster player this year, and not the cool ones at the amusement park, more the like The Dragon one at the pop-up carnival. He faces a Miami defense that has played well beyond expectations this year allowing just seven passing touchdowns all season.

Other Quarterbacks To Sit: Daniel Jones, Cam Newton, Drew Brees, Philip Rivers

Bust

Ben Roethlisberger at Baltimore Ravens

The Steelers are the last remaining undefeated team, Ben has done well, but this isn’t Big Ben. He isn’t throwing deep and doesn’t scramble, he’s become the old check down guy. He faces a Ravens defense who he has struggled against in the past as they’ve allowed just four passing touchdowns this year to quarterbacks not named Patrick Mahomes.

Running Backs

Starts

Todd Gurley at Carolina Panthers (Thursday)

Gurley isn’t the fantasy star of 2017 when we’re seeing him put 20 points a week while we were singing ‘Despacito,’ but with six touchdowns in his last five games, he’s been a dependable person in your lineup. He faces the Panthers where he put up his only 100+ rushing yard performance this year back in Week 5.

Jonathan Taylor at Detroit Lions

Jonathan Taylor Thomas was an actor on ‘Home Improvement’ with Tim Allen who is from Michigan, so I’m assuming this will probably be the first time he will even think of this name in 20 years, and he probably won’t think of it nicely. Taylor is beginning to get on the field more as his snap share is trending upwards, and he has a great opportunity against the Lions who have given up the fourth-most points to running backs this season.

Other Running Backs To Start: Boston Scott (If Miles Sanders is out), Giovani Bernard, La’Michal Perine, Ronald Jones, Darrell Henderson Jr.

Sleeper

Le’Veon Bell vs. New York Jets

Bell got some snaps in his Chiefs debut going for six carries for 39 yards. The revenge game comes very early for Bell as he goes up against the Jets who are allowing the eighth-most points to running backs this year.

Sits

David Montgomery vs. New Orleans Saints

It’s been tough to trust Montgomery on a consistent basis with 50.5 rushing yards-per-game as he’s just RB22 on the season. He faced a tough Rams rushing defense last week and now he gets an even tougher matchup in the Saints who are allowing the fourth-fewest rushing yards-per-game this year.

Other Running Backs To Sit: Myles Gaskin, Justin Jackson, Devonta Freeman, Carlos Hyde, JaMycal Hasty

Bust

Gus Edwards/J.K. Dobbins vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Mark Ingram is dealing with an ankle sprain so it means Edwards and Dobbins could see an increase in carries. There’s no way to know who, if either will get more touches, and this is a tough Steelers matchup allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to running backs.

Wide Receivers

Starts

Travis Fulgham vs Dallas Cowboys

Fulgham has taken full advantage of all injuries on the Eagles offense with double-digit targets and fantasy points in three consecutive games. Look for that trend to continue against a Dallas defense who has allowed the most touchdowns to wide receivers and fourth-most fantasy points.

Brandon Aiyuk vs. Seattle Seahawk

Deebo Samuel is out with an injury, Aiyuk looks to be the prominent wide receiver for the 49ers. He gets a great matchup against the terrible Seahawks passing defense and Kyle Shanahan is finding ways to get him the ball.

Other Wide Receivers To Start: Tee Higgins, Mike Evans, Cole Beasley, Rashard Higgins, Robby Anderson

Sleeper

Nelson Agholor at Cleveland Browns

After a turbulent tenor in Philadelphia, Agholor may have found his home in Las Vegas. With injuries to the Raiders receivers, he’s been getting more opportunities and now has a touchdown in three straight games along with a season-high nine targets last week. He has another chance to see the end zone against Cleveland which has allowed 11 touchdowns to wide receiver this year.

Sits

DeVante Parker vs. LA Rams

Parker has been great to have in your lineup with over 10 PPR fantasy points in four of six games this year. This is a game that I wouldn’t suggest starting him if you have other options. He’s going to be seeing a lot of Jalen Ramsey and the chemistry with Tua may not be there yet.

Other Wide Receivers To Sit: Julian Edelman, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Darius Slayton, Mike Williams, Robert Woods

Bust

Michael Gallup at Philadelphia Eagles

This is a permission slip to drop Gallup from your lineup, DM me if you need my signature. Gallup is been boom-or-bust all season while depending on the deep ball, and I don’t trust Andy Dalton, Ben DiNucci, or whoever they put out there to there to get him the ball. This is also a fade to CeeDee Lamb who’s hard to trust as nothing more than a flex-start.

Tight Ends

Starts

Jimmy Graham vs. New Orleans Saints

Graham has fallen off as of late, but he gets a great matchup against the Saints who are allowing the second-most points to the position, and of course, it’s a Revenge Game Alert!

Rob Gronkowski at New York Giants (Monday)

The Tom Brady – Gronkowski connection feels so nostalgic that it comes with a bowl of New England clam chowder a Boston Lager. Gronk is averaging 7.3 targets over the last three games and has a touchdown in the last two. Look for that to continue against his former Super Bowl foes the Giants as Brady will look to him with no Godwin in the lineup.

Other Tight Ends To Start: T.J. Hockenson, Harrison Bryant, Rob Gronkowski, Noah Fant

Sleeper

Richard Rodgers vs. Dallas Cowboys

Rodgers put up a solid stat line last week to finish as TE6. He has another great opportunity this week against the dreaded Cowboys defense. Carson Wentz throws the most targets-per-game to tight ends than any other quarterback, Rodgers will see the ball a lot this week.

Sits

Trey Burton at Detroit Lions

Burton has become the fantasy-relevant tight end for Indianapolis with at least five targets in three straight games. This week he has a tough matchup against the Lions have allowed the fewest targets and second-fewest receiving yards to tight ends.

Robert Tonyan vs. Minnesota Vikings

Why did Aaron Rodgers say all those nice things about Big Bob Tonyan just before the bye? Was he trying to make his main squeeze Davante Adams jealous? Well, it worked, because in the two games since Adams’ return he has just 57 receiving yards and zero touchdowns. It’ll be tough to trust him this week against a Vikings defense that has allowed just two touchdowns to tight ends this season.

Other Tight Ends To Sit: Dalton Schultz, Evan Engram, Eric Ebron, David Njoku

Bust

Rams tight ends at Miami Dolphins

Why does Sean McVay keep doing this to us? He’s trying to be like the other cool kids with the running back by committee trend, but now it looks like he’s trying to make this tight end by a committee a thing? Gerald Everett had started to steal targets from Tyler Higbee, so you would think with Higbee out, it would be an Everett game right? NO! Here comes Johnny Mundt who had doubled his snap count from any other game this year. This comes as they face Miami which has allowed just over four points-per-game to the position.
