The FAU swim team gave its basketball brethren a major boost during a key conference matchup against Tulane. The Owls would use their home court advantage to their benefit in the best way possible.

Florida Atlantic battled with the Green Wave as the two sides traded blows throughout the first half. The Owls eventually gained control of the game ahead of the halftime break, taking a seven-point lead into the locker room.

They wouldn’t trail the rest of the way, eventually pulling out a 79-73 victory.

The home crowd made it a point to hassle the visiting Wave, creating a raucous environment in Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. No one was more impactful than the swim team.

Sitting in the front row underneath the basket, those FAU swim members took part in some silly sideline shenanigans as a distraction tactic for free throw shooters.

The speedo-sporting swimmers did their part to affect their opponent, and it seemed to work!

Tulane shot less than 60% from the free throw line after entering the game shooting 73% from the charity stripe.

The Florida Atlantic supporters made sure to arrive early for the league matchup to nab those front-row seats and ensure their presence would be felt.

It certainly paid off!

FAU improved to 22-7 on the season as they look to make another deep run in the NCAA Tournament. The Owls made a historic trip to the Final Four last year and are hoping to surprise again this March.
