The last couple of months have been pretty rough for Jalen Carter’s draft stock.

Carter was once considered a candidate to be the draft’s top pick.

Over the course of the pre-draft process, it became unclear how far he would end up falling.

First it was an off-field issue that was revealed while Carter was at the NFL Combine that raised questions about where he’d be picked.

Then he followed that up by gaining weight ahead of his Pro Day, not doing any athletic testing, and being unable to finish his positional drills at that Pro Day.

There were reports of teams taking Carter off of their draft boards as a result of these issues and Carter himself even recently said that he was expecting to fall in this year’s draft.

It turns out that it might not actually take all that long for Carter’s fall to end.

DraftKings Sportsbook currently has Carter listed as the favorite to be taken 5th overall by the Seattle Seahawks at a line of -110.

Adding Carter could help fix one of the Seahawks’ biggest problems from last season. They couldn’t stop the run.

Over the course of the 2022 season, the Seahawks allowed the 3rd most rushing yards in the league and the 6th most yards per carry.

Adding Jalen Carter, who was a force in the middle of the Georgia defensive line last season, should help to fix that.

Despite the issues that Carter has had this offseason, the Seahawks could still be getting a steal with the draft’s 5th pick.

There are some who still believe Carter is the most talented player in this year’s draft and he could be a big difference maker for the Seattle Seahawks.

With the offseason he has had, Jalen Carter would have to be pretty happy to end up in Seattle with the draft’s 5th pick.
