On June 12, it will be 30 years since the 1994 murders of 34-year-old Nicole Brown Simpson and 25-year-old Ron Goldman; murders in which OJ Simpson was the only person who was ever arrested and charged with committing.

Simpson, who was found not guilty of the crimes during one of the most famous trials ever held, was later found liable for the victims’ deaths in a 1997 civil suit and ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages to the Brown and Goldman families. He never did pay them.

Now, two months after the death of OJ Simpson at the age of 76, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released 475 pages of documents related to the investigation of “The Juice” and the infamous 1994 murders.

No major bombshells are revealed in the documents labeled “Part 01,” but they do reveal some of the evidence collection and testing that took place during the investigation, including a sharp focus on the Bruno Magli shoes that were determined to have been worn by the murderer.

“What probably the shoes issue is about is that because they were rare shoes, and there wasn’t any direct evidence of OJ at the crime scene, that they were trying to maybe match up some fibers that may have been left by shoes that he was wearing at the crime scene with these rare shoes that are made out there in Italy,” attorney Lou Shapiro explained to ABC 7 Eyewitness News on Friday. “So maybe they were trying to make that kind of connection. I don’t think they made it though, in the end, because we never heard about that in the trial.”

Another point of interest in the documents were fibers recovered from the white Ford Bronco that OJ Simpson was riding in during the infamous slow speed chase prior to his arrest.

There is also a memo in the batch of documents that reads, “Due to the intense media interest in captioned matter, and the potential prejudicial impact that public dissemination could have on pending criminal proceedings … the following information should be handled on a strict need to know basis, and should not be disseminated outside the FBI.”

Unfortunately, with the death of OJ Simpson it means his personal investigation has come to an end and we may now never know the identity of the “real” killer.
