A former FBI profiler with 22 years of experience has revealed a new theory about the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, suggesting O.J. Simpson didn’t act alone.
Jim Clemente, who is also a former New York State prosecutor and writer/producer on the CBS crime drama Criminal Minds, said Ron Goldman’s injuries indicate that two people were involved: one who perpetrated the assault and one who restrained Goldman.
Evidence points to someone restraining Ron Goldman during the attack
Cuts and tears to Goldman’s legs and pants, according to Clemente, indicate that multiple people were involved in the attack. He believes Goldman’s arms were being held “and his arms were being pinned and that’s why he resorted to his legs only.”
“With the cuts in his jeans, in his pants that he was wearing at the time, the knife wounds could only have been made if both of his legs were elevated and bent and straightened out like he was kicking,” Clemente said on TZ Scandal with Tom Zenner.
“The only way that we behaviorally could figure out how that could happen is if somebody has him in a bear hug from behind and he’s being stabbed by somebody in the front. He’s kicking, he’s fighting for his life. It’s a horrible, horrible scene.
The former FBI profiler also noted that Goldman’s arms had no comparable defensive wounds, which he said indicated that they had been restrained.
“If he were punching and kicking, you would see the same kinds of wounds through his clothing on his arms because the person with the knife would have been lashing out,” he continued. “He wouldn’t just stab his legs.”
The former FBI profiler also believes the attack was ‘an organized crime’
Additionally, Jim Clemente contended that Nicole Brown Simpson was the intended victim and disputed the notion that the murders were merely a random attack.
“Whoever committed this crime had an extreme amount of rage and anger in them,” Clemente said. “And they have been fantasizing about this for a long time. They planned this. This is not a disorganized crime. This is an organized crime.”
As many others have theorized, Clemente believes that Goldman might have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time on June 12, 1994 after going to Nicole’s house to return glasses she had left at a restaurant.
“Of course, he thought she would be alone at that moment, but because she left the glasses there at the restaurant, somebody else showed up. That is an unexpected result,” he said.
So who was O.J. Simpson’s accomplice, if there was one?
Jim Clemente said he had “a pretty good idea” of who might have assisted O.J. Simpson when asked who he thought the accomplice was, but he did not name anyone.
In May 2025, Jennifer Peace, who says she was dating Simpson’s close friend Al Cowlings at the time of the murders, said O.J. confessed to the killings shortly after the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Unfortunately, O.J. Simpson died in 2024 at the age of 76 without ever confessing publicly or discovering the “true” murderer, as he had long promised.
