The FIFA 16 Trailer Just Dropped, And The Game Just Got A Lot More Complicated

The ‘FIFA 16’ trailer just dropped, along with an announcement that FIFA 16 will have a September 2015 release date for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 3. The biggest feature announcement is that for the first time in history you’ll be able to play as the women’s national teams from all across the globe. That’s right, beginning this Fall you’ll be able to dominate the rest of the world playing as the USWNT. Finally we ‘Muricans will know the nationalist pride of playing as a squad as talented as a Brazil or Germany. This is a game changer.

Available women’s national teams include: USA, Germany, France, Sweden, England, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Spain, China, Italy, and Mexico.

EA Sports was able to catch up with USWNT star Alex Morgan to discuss what this means to her, and to the game itself. Here’s what she had to say:

EA Sports: What does it mean to you to be in FIFA 16?
Alex Morgan: It is such an honor for women’s players and our team to be included in FIFA 16. I always wondered what it would be like to see our team in the game and it is very cool to know that it is now a reality.

EA Sports: Did you play video games growing up? What was your favorite game?
Alex Morgan: We definitely played video games growing up and my favorite was definitely Mario Party.

EA Sports: Who is your biggest inspiration?
Alex Morgan: My family has been a consistent source of support and inspiration throughout my career. I also grew up being inspired by US Women’s National Team “greats” like Kristine Lilly, Mia Hamm and my current teammate, Abby Wambach. Watching them inspire a generation of girls during the ’99 World Cup was incredible. In turn, we are inspired daily by the girls that support us and strive to be in our shoes one day. I was once that little girl and I know how important it was to me to have role models for me to emulate on and off the field.

EA Sports: What do you listen to before a game?
Alex Morgan: Mumford and Sons, James Bay and Lumineers

EA Sports: Pre-game meal?
Alex Morgan: Banana pancakes, chicken and pasta
