Fletcher Cox Rips Into ‘Clown’ Reporter Who Asked Him About Nick Sirianni’s Future

Nick Sirianni’s future with the Eagles seems to be up in the air after a promising season came to a disastrous end, but Fletcher Cox does not sound like he wants to speculate on the fate of his head coach.

It was pretty hard to imagine Nick Sirianni was going to have any job security issues as recently as a couple of months ago. He led the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl in just his second year as the head coach of the franchise, and the team appeared to pick up where it left off by getting off to a 10-1 start this season.

However, the wheels fell off in a big way in the second half of the campaign, as the Eagles lost five of their last six games before getting absolutely embarrassed in the first round of the playoffs courtesy of a 32-9 loss at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It was a very ugly end to the year, but it’s still a bit hard to imagine Philadelphia would fire a guy who’s won 34 games in his first three seasons and has never missed the playoffs during his tenure (it currently looks like the team is gearing up to make some other coaching changes, which could lead to the dismissal of much-maligned offensive coordinator Brian Johnson).

It’s obviously foolish to expect the Eagles to be a beacon of transparency when it comes to Sirianni’s fate, and it’s only natural that members of the media are doing everything in their power to get some insight into the situation.

However, one reporter who tried to squeeze some details out of Fletcher Cox got firmly shut down after the defensive tackle made it pretty clear he doesn’t think Sirianni’s job is in jeopardy.

Here’s what Cox had to say when asked about the situation:

“Come on, man. He’s the head football coach of this team. There ain’t even no f—ing discussion about it.

I don’t got nothing to say about that. You’re a clown, bro. Get out of my face, bro.”

Allllllrighty then.
