If you tuned into the Florida Gators game against the Campbell Camels on Saturday afternoon and felt like the crowd noise was even louder than normal at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, you weren’t the only one.
The Swamp, as it’s affectionately known, is one of the best atmospheres in all of college football. Nobody would argue otherwise. With a maximum capacity of nearly 90,000 people, it can be an absolute nightmare for opposing teams when the Gators are rolling.
Which is exactly why some fans found it bizarre when they noticed that Florida was clearly using piped in crowd noise during its game against FCS foe Campbell.

Florida’s Enhanced Crowd Noise Was Extremely Obvious
While college football analytics reporter Bud Davis was the first to note the fake crowd noise on social media, he certainly wasn’t the only one to point it out.
In fact, even Gators fans inside the stadium noticed the pumped-in sounds, and they weren’t too happy about it.
“Not there, but my brother is in my seats and texted me about. Embarrassing if true,” one fan wrote in reply to Davis.
“If this is true, it needs to never ever happen again,” wrote Matthew Walton.
Florida, under first-year head coach Jon Sumrall, is trying to revive a program that hasn’t won 10 games this decade. And some of that involves enhanced crowd involvement, even it means the return of a chant with a questionable background.
But the Gators don’t need any tricks to make for a great atmosphere. Just go out and win games and fans will make plenty of noise on their on.
