Forbes’ Highest-Paid Athletes Will Make You Hate Soccer Even More Than You Do

For those of you whose parents didn’t sign the permission slip to play sports when you were little, now’s your chance to throw a serious tantrum and curse them out, because Forbes released their annual list of the highest-paid athletes in the world and, my fucking goodness, these dudes make bank.

And as if you couldn’t hate the near-perfect life that soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo lives, the guy tops the list with absurd earnings of $88 million last year. Here’s the entire top-10:

The luxurious life of CR7 might be hard enough for you soccer haters to swallow, but Lionel Messi lands second on Forbes’ list after taking in $81.4 million last year, so it’s clear that if you can kick a ball well, you can, potentially, become a multi-millionaire.

So if you’re like me and you missed out on the opportunity to play sports for a living and now have to live vicariously through these athletes, go take a swig of the finest whisky and drown in your sorrows, because some guys just have all the luck.

You can see the FULL LIST here on Forbes.com.
