Former Patriots Super Bowl RB Arrested In Florida

Former New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis was arrested in Tampa, Florida, on a misdemeanor charge of trespassing.

The incident took place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, where Lewis allegedly caused a disturbance and refused to leave the premises, according to TMZ.

The Seminole Police Department saying that Lewis had been “unruly and belligerent,” which prompted security personnel to contact the police.

“Dion Lewis was accused of causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises,” Officer Johnson stated. It remains unclear what may have led to Lewis’s behavior or how the situation escalated.

Lewis was subsequently released on a $500 bond several hours later.

Dion Lewis, entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2011 NFL Draft, and had a noteworthy career, mostly after joining the Patriots in 2015, where he became known as one of Tom Brady’s trusted weapons out of the backfield.

Over his 102-game NFL career, Lewis recorded 2,425 rushing yards, 1,408 receiving yards, and scoring a total of 21 touchdowns.

Lewis played on the Eagles, Browns, Colts, Patriots, Titans and Giants, ending his career in 2020.
