FSU had power issues during their home game against SMU, and college football fans mocked them for it

On Monday night, FSU had to delay its game against SMU because of a power outage at Doak Campbell Stadium.

The lights went out at 7:30 p.m., right before the originally scheduled kickoff. As the sun was setting, it was a surreal scene as players and coaches waited for the Atlantic Coast Conference opener to commence.

Florida State (1-0) and SMU (0-0) had run out of their respective tunnels and onto their sidelines just moments before the game officially entered a delay. The Seminoles and Mustangs remained on their sidelines before eventually being sent back to their locker rooms.

Officials would later try to reset the transformer, and the transformer blew, leading to a longer delay.

Florida State eventually decided to restart the game with some concessions.

Fans on social media mocked FSU over the delay.
