This Tennis Shot From Gael Monfils Is Being Called The ‘Best You’ll Ever See’ And I’m Nodding My Head In Agreement

The Madrid Open is currently taking place in Spain and the ‘human highlight reel’ Gael Monfils of Paris, France pulled off a shot so insane that it’s already being called the best shot you’ll ever see by the sports media.

I can’t confirm or deny that this is the best shot I’ll ever see in a tennis match because I plan on living for at least 70 more years and there’s a solid chance that the best shot I’ll ever see will come from an athlete who isn’t even born yet but that’s not to take anything away from Gael Monfils’ totally batshit crazy insane spinning jump shot.

Just to confirm that I’m not making up this ‘best shot you’ll ever see’ stuff, it was dubbed that by the Tennis Channel on Twitter and also Business Insider so I’m not making shit up here, people are legitimately losing their minds over this.

Monfils completed the match, beating Fucsovics 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 and he will face the G.O.A.T, Roger Federer, in A third round match on Thursday. This all went down on Court 5 in the second set when Monfils was up 5-3. Check it out:

Is that the greatest tennis shot you’ll ever see in your lifetime? It’s possible. I can’t say for certain. For all that I know you’ll see something crazier in an amateur match at your home club. Or you could spend some time on YouTube tracking down the craziest shots in tennis history. But that shouldn’t take away from Monfils’ unreal shot.

He faces an uphill battle against Roger Federer in the 3rd Round this week in Madrid but I suspect some extra fans will be pulling from him after footage of that shot begins to make the rounds.
