Two sports bettors cashed in on the start of the Knicks-Nets game after an NBA2K simulation accurately predicted the first scorer for each team and the method of basket.

Each boasted near 10/1 odds or longer, giving the duo an incredible return.

The Bleacher Report Betting social media team posted the footage of the Brooklyn vs. New York simulation, which saw the Knicks jump out to a quick 3-0 lead thanks to a Donte DiVincenzo three-pointer.

The Nets answered with a trey from Cameron Johnson.

Given that information, the gamblers placed bets on who would score first for each team as well as what that first bucket would be.

In all four cases, the ticket cashed – though it didn’t play out exactly as the video game suggested. The Nets actually scored first, but that wouldn’t impact the outcome of these bets.

Those wagers included Cam Johnson first Nets scorer at +950, Cam Johnson three-pointer Nets first basket method at +1900, Donte DiVincenzo first Knicks scorer at +1200, and Donte DiVincenzo three-pointer Knicks first basket method at +2100.

The bettors sprinkled just $5 on each bet, meaning the ultimate payout was $317.50 for a profit of $297.50.

I’m guessing they wish they’d put a little more dough on the plays, now.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen bettors use video game simulations to attempt to predict the future. Madden was a popular tool for gamblers trying to build parlays this NFL season – and in some cases, they hit!

We’ll see if this duo has any more success.
