It has been a while since football fans have seen Minshew Mania at its peak.

He hasn’t started regularly since his last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars back in 2020.

Over the last couple of seasons, Gardner Minshew has served as the backup to Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia, starting just 4 games.

This past season, he was their starter for 2 of their 3 losses, but it appears he showed enough in those two starts to convince a team to consider giving him a shot as a starter in 2023.

According to The Atheltic’s Zak Keefer, the Indianapolis Colts are looking into Minshew.

The Colts hiring former Eagles offensive coordinator definitely doesn’t hurt Gardner Minshew’s chances of finding his next job in Indianapolis.

While the expectation is that the Colts are going to be spending the 4th overall pick on a quarterback, that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t still be looking for a starter for next season.

Whichever quarterback they end up with at pick 4, that quarterback is very unlikely to be ready to start early in the 2023 season.

Gardner Minshow likely wouldn’t be the guy to get the Colts back to the playoffs after their last two quarterbacks failed to take them there, but he would be a serviceable starter for them.

If anything, the Colts would at least be more entertaining to watch with him under center than they were during their horrendous offensive performance in 2022.

Minshew would definitely be a temporary answer for the Indianapolis Colts, but he could at least give Colts fans something to look forward to while they wait for their rookie to be ready and would give Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce somebody who could get them the ball with some regularity.
