Gardner-Webb has suspended football coach Kris McCullough.
Kris McCullough has reportedly been suspended by the Gardner-Webb football program. He has coached one game with the Bulldogs, which he lost to Austin Peay.
Few details have been released as to the reasoning behind the punishment. “Off the field” allegations have been referenced.
Mystery surrounds the suspension due to the lack of clarity. The school has not publicly confirmed the decision, though an update on his future in North Carolina is said to be coming in the next 24 hours.

The former head coach at the University of Texas-Permian Basin was hired last December to replace Cris Reisert, who stepped down to join become offensive coordinator at Toledo.
McCullough has a history of success. He took University of Texas-Permian Basin to the DII playoffs two of his last three years. He also led East Central University to a nine-win campaign in his lone season as head coach.
The McCullough era officially began last Thursday. Gardner-Webb travelled to Clarksville, Tennessee to face 18th-ranked Austin Peay. It didn’t go well.
The Governors controlled the game throughout. They led 21-10 at halftime. That advantage grew to 35-10 by the start of the fourth quarter.
The Runnin’ Bulldogs left with a 35-17 loss. Now, it could be without its head coach in Game 2.
