During yesterday’s FA Cup match between Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers, the BBC pregame broadcast was sabotaged by someone who decided to pump explicit moaning noises into the set.

The noise in the video is obviously a bit NSFW, so instead of risking it by posting it in the article, just click this link and you can find it over on Twitter.

Gary Lineker — the former England, Tottenham, and Barcelona striker that hosts the broadcast — took to Twitter to reveal that the sabotage was conducted by taping a rogue cellphone to the back of a studio chair.

Lineker was clearly in good spirits about the whole affair, as he later tweeted that he hasn’t had that much fun in years.

As a result of the incident, the BBC was forced to issue an official apology:

“We apologize to any viewers offended during the live coverage of the football this evening. We are investigating how this happened.

In the match itself, Liverpool — who have been struggling mightily this season as they’re currently 9th in the Premier League — edged past Wolves by a score of 1-0 courtesy of this stunning strike from youngster Harvey Elliot:

As a result of their win against Wolves, Liverpool will go on to face Brighton & Hove Albion — who waxed them by a score of 3-0 last weekend in the Premier League — in the next round of the FA Cup. Liverpool is the defending FA Cup champions, having beaten Chelsea in the final last season.

This weekend, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will actually host Chelsea at Anfield, the only other “Big Six” team in the Premier League that is having a worse season than they are, as they’ve already (controversially) fired one manager this season and currently sit in 10th place.
