Georgia football has partnered with Progressive Insurance.

Georgia football fans will see a new on-field sponsor at Sanford Stadium this fall. Progressive Insurance logos will be visible on Dooley Field in 2026.

Given the Bulldogs‘ recent history of driving related run-ins, the partnership has created a massive response on social media. The jokes are writing themselves!

Progressive Insurance sponsors Georgia football.

Founded in 1937, Progressive provides insurance for personal and commercial autos and trucks, motorcycles, boats, recreational vehicles, and homes.

It is a leading seller of personal auto, commercial auto, motorcycle, and boat insurance, and one of the top 15 homeowners’ insurance carriers in the United States

The partnership was unveiled by the athletic department on Tuesday. Details of the deal have been made public at GeorgiaDogs.com.

The University of Georgia and Progressive Insurance have announced a significant sponsorship that will include Progressive’s logo placement on Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium this upcoming season…

In addition to on-field branding, this collaboration will include sideboard features, in-venue LED signage, digital and social media integrations and other game day experiences designed to engage fans.

Progressive’s branding and integrated marketing elements will debut with the start of the 2026 college football season.

“We’re excited to showcase our new sponsorship with Progressive between the hedges!” said Ryan Gribble, Chief Revenue Officer for Georgia Bulldogs Sports Marketing. “This investment significantly supports UGA Athletics, UGA student-athletes and Dawgs fans everywhere.”

UGA is one of 13 college football programs to take part in the initiative.

The deal is notable for more reasons that one. Obviously, it will provide a financial boost in the NIL era, but that’s not what’s grabbed the attention of most fans online.

Jokes are writing themselves.

The Bulldogs have been hit with numerous reckless driving charges dating back to the 2023 national championship season. In 2024, the number hovered around two dozen.

The issues continued into 2025 and have once again arisen this offseason.

The violations have led to criticism from opposing fans and coaches. Arkansas head coach Ryan Silverfield viciously mocked the Bulldogs last season for an inability to follow traffic rules, calling it a “weekly occurrence.”

Kirby Smart has attempted to curb the behavior with NIL threats, and to his credit, the instances seem to have decreased over the last few months.

That did not prevent football fans from trolling Georgia for partnering with Progressive Insurance.

Check out the immediate response below:

“They do need good car insurance coverage at UGA…”

“The irony here.”

“Are they going to include insurance rates for speeders with the logo?”

“Car insurance company sponsoring Georgia football is preaching to the choir.”

“Progressive knew they wouldn’t have to give out safe driver discounts.”

Jokes aside, it’s a win for the Bulldogs. It might also serve as a reminder for players who will soon see Progressive logos littered throughout the stadium on gameday.
