Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key had to prevent defensive end Noah Carter from charging at a Colorado player following the college football game in Atlanta last week. A new video shows him throw the Alabama transfer to the side as he walked over to shake hands with Deion Sanders.

It was a frustrating end to a frustrating loss.

Fortunately, this was only the first game of the college football season. Unfortunately, it ended with poor sportsmanship.

Colorado beat Georgia Tech on a walk-off field goal block.

The first Thursday night game of the FBS season went down to the wire. Colorado took a one-point lead over Georgia Tech with one minute remaining but the Yellow Jackets got into field goal range on the very next play.

Three plays later, the Buffaloes blocked a game-winning field goal attempt to seal the victory.

It was a statement win for a program that was told all offseason that they are too small. It was a bummer loss for a team that was (and still is) expected to compete for an ACC title, especially because they were robbed of the game-winning touchdown.

Right as the clock hit zero, Colorado immediately ran to the far end zone to celebrate its win. Players — and even a few coaches — danced in front of the dejected Georgia Tech student section.

Meanwhile, Sanders walked toward midfield to show the utmost respect for his opponent. He was trying to find Brent Key.

And in that moment, one of the Yellow Jackets lost his temper.

Brent Key had to prevent Noah Carter from attacking an opponent.

Listed on the roster at 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Noah Carter is a junior at Georgia Tech. The well-built defensive end transferred from Alabama during the offseason as a former four-star recruit. He made two tackles and one tackle for loss against Colorado.

Something set him off after the game.

A new video shows Carter charge at the Buffaloes in rage. It looks like one of the victors had something to say. It is unclear as to who or what. Carter didn’t like it.

He tried to fight the Colorado player but Brent Key stepped in front of him before he could get there. Key was furious.

Neither program offered a statement about what happened. I cannot find the original source of the video so I have not seen if there is any additional context. All I know is what you can see above. Noah Carter tried to attack an opponent but his head coach stopped him from doing so.
