Giants legend Carl Banks, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the team, decided to resign from his regular slot on WFAN660.

This move comes after Banks was disrespect and kicked off the show last week by hosts Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata. The incident took place during a conversation about linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux, who Banks was defending after the hosts called the former 5th overall pick from the 2022 NFL draft, a “Bust” which didn’t sit well with Banks.

During the exchange, Sal chose to hang up on Banks. The Giants legend is no longer willing to engage in weekly talk radio arguments with hosts who treated him more like a “caller than a paid guest“, decided to resign from the show, according to Gary Myers.

Despite WFAN’s efforts to ask him to return, neither the financial compensation nor spot on air proved compelling enough for Banks to change his mind, per the report.

A few days following the incident, Thibodeaux put up a standout performance against the Jets, with a stat line of 3 sacks, 3 tackles for loss, and 3 quarterback hits.

It’s just no way to treat a team legend.
