Two weeks ago, Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. opened up to the media and aired out his issues with the team’s offensive struggles in public.

“How come we can’t throw the ball for more than 20 yards? How come we don’t attempt or try to throw the ball for more than 20 yards?,” he said. “Those are questions that we have to figure out, but for now I would say it’s our heart, it’s our energy. It’s what we bring when we line up before the game, all of that. It counts.”
Beckham sat down with ESPN’s Josina Anderson and continued to take shots QB Eli Manning.

“I don’t know,” Beckham said when asked if there was an issue at quarterback. “Like I said, I feel like he’s not going to get out the pocket. He’s not — we know Eli’s not running it. But is it a matter of time issue? Can he still throw it, yeah, but it’s been pretty safe and it’s been, you know … cool catching shallow [routes] and trying to take it to the house. But I’m, you know, I want to go over the top of somebody.”
Today Giants owner John Mara spoke to the media at the Owners meeting in New York and he took a few shots at Beckham.
John Mara on Odell Beckham: "I think he needs to do a little more playing and a little less talking."

Mara said he did not talk to Beckham after his ESPN interview, saying he thinks enough people talk to him. Said he wishes he would make his headlines on the field instead of off.

Mara also feels that the team’s struggles is entirely on Eli.
Mara, at the owners' meeting, on Eli: "When you're 1-5, it generally means everybody has to play better." Said he will leave it up to coaches whether to eventually play Kyle Lauletta.

Mara emphasized that he knows Eli is the "punching bag" right now, but said a lot of guys have to play better when the team is 1-5. "It's not just him."

We’ll have to wait to see how Odell responds to Mara’s comments because it’s only a matter of time until he does.
