Army football will be able to say that God’s power is literally on its side for the next four years. The Black Knights received a pledge from one of the best names in college football earlier this week and his decision guarantees they will have the backing of the Lord. Kind of.

Godspower Nwawuihe committed to the United States Military Academy over offers from the Naval Academy and the Citadel. He will head to West Point next fall after graduating from McKinney High School in Texas.

That is his legal name— Godspower. It’s incredible.

The dual-threat athlete is one of the best kept secrets in the country. He is not ranked on any major recruiting site and did not get any scholarship opportunities outside of the three military-based schools.

Austin Peay, Baylor and Houston showed some interest in recruiting Nwawuihe but they never extended a formal offer. And Army will be better because of it!

He is the perfect service academy quarterback.

Although Nwawuihe can spin the pill, his legs are what really set him apart. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound signal-caller is a powerful downfield runner with impressive burst, breakaway speed, and the ability to run defenders over in the open field.

Nwawuihe accounted for 58 total touchdowns during his sophomore and junior seasons at North Garland. He later transferred to McKinney and averaged 73.3 rushing yards per game with 10 total touchdowns on the ground.

The Black Knights are thrilled to get Nwawuihe in their system, which will look a little bit different in 2024 than it did in 2023. They are expected to run more plays from under center this year after putting an emphasis on the option out of a shotgun last year.

Either way, Nwawuihe’s skillset is the perfect fit for a triple-option offense. And it helps that he literally brings God’s power to southern New York!
