Guy Makes $50,000 Mistake By Forgetting To Do The One Thing Every NCAA Bracket Needs

While every single one of us have already ripped our brackets in half or stopped paying attention to where we’re at in bracket challenges after a wild NCAA Tournament, one guy named James Kiki had every right to double and triple check where he was in the standings on Yahoo!’s tournament challenge.

That’s because Kiki, who admits to not being much of a college hoops fan, saw his bracket rise all the way to the top—first place—in the Yahoo! standings, as he correctly picked an unlikely Syracuse team to reach the Final Four.

Believing that Villanova would take on North Carolina in the title game—still a possibility—Jason Kiki did the one thing that would crush anyone’s soul: He forgot to pick a winner, leaving his bracket incomplete and ineligible to be the winner of the $50,000 prize

Per Syracuse.com via FTW.USAToday:

Once he realized his mistake, Kiki was kicking himself. He said he was planning on picking Villanova to beat North Carolina in the championship game, but now he’s just rooting for Syracuse. Syracuse’s improbable run to the Final Four was a topic of conversation at On Point for College, where Kiki works, Monday morning. When his co-workers started asking what he thought of the Orange making the Final Four, he just shook his head.

“I don’t even want to think about it,” Kiki said.

This is like having a winning lottery ticket and spilling coffee on it as you’re driving in to cash the damn thing. Just brutal.
