The transfer portal numbers grew even larger this week following an announcement from a notable college player. Hansel Emmanuel, a one-armed contributor from Northwestern State, plans to leave the program after a season.

The news comes on Monday morning, adding to the already lengthy list of potential transfers. Many around the basketball world are reacting to the recent reports.

We’re already seeing the busiest transfer season to date, with nearly 500 players having entered their names. A record number of more than 170 of those potential transfers made announcements on the first day of the new “transfer window.”

While all of these players have the same goal in mind (to find a new home and fit), none is as unique as Hansel Emmanuel. The Northwestern State freshman plays at the college level with just his right arm.

Emmanuel went viral prior to his college start due to his incredible ability to score in spite of his perceived setback. Take a look at one of his many highlight reels below.

Those high school highlights landed Emmanuel three-star status and a few different college offers, one of which included Memphis. He eventually landed at Northwestern State, picking the Demons over the Tigers and Bethune-Cookman.

In his lone season with the Demons, the guard averaged 1.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per game on 53.8% shooting. He played just over eight minutes a night for Northwestern State.

Now, he’ll look to take his talents elsewhere.

Many on social media quickly reacted to the news, posting clips of the basketball star’s talents and speculation of his future.
