The Atlanta Hawks’ Twitter Ruthlessly Mocked Lakers Fans Wearing Retired Players’ Jerseys

Hawks Twitter Trolled Lakers Fans Jerseys

The Atlanta Hawks’ Twitter account went rogue Monday night, mercilessly trolling Los Angeles Lakers fans who were wearing retired players’ jerseys at Philips Arena during the teams’ match-up. Never mind the fact that the 11th place Lakers defeated the 15th place Hawks 123 to 104. No one, including most Lakers and Hawks fans cared about that. (The two teams are now a combined 44-77 on the year.) The real entertainment of the night was on social media.

This isn’t the first time that whoever runs the Atlanta Hawks Twitter account has dropped some serious snark on social media. Miami Heat fans and even the NBA itself have also been targets of Hawks Twitter in the past.

That being said, this trolljob Hawks Twitter pulled on Monday night is one of the very finest I have seen from a sports team’s social media account. You’ve got Lakers fans repping Kobe (more than once), Shaq, Michael Cooper (?!), Kareem, Magic, and Nick Van Exel (what?!).

Witness…

And finally…

Of course, Lakers fan, and the team’s 26-34 record, was very salty over this hilarious jab at his fandom.

So salty. That’s okay though. Hawks Twitter person gets it.
