The U.S. Open is fast approaching and Serena Williams is warming up the most important part of her body: her vocal chords. Here she is singing Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend on Wednesday night in New York City.
You can tell she’s a pro because instead of shying away from the high notes, she attacks them with gusto. Whether she succeeds in hitting them, well, that’s another story.
Williams, a karaoke enthusiast, called the singing sport “my favorite thing.”
“I do like 80s, 90s rock because it’s good for my voice,” she said before she performed. “The thing about karaoke is picking a song that works for your voice, that way if you sing like a cat — like I do — you can still sound pretty good.”
