After months of speculation and rumors, Arch Manning’s college football recruitment hasn’t seemed to get any closer to settled.

It had recently been reported that Texas was in the lead to land Manning, but Alabama and Georgia remain in the mix. He even took a visit with his mom’s alma mater, Virginia. Now another school could be getting some serious consideration based on a quote from Manning’s high school coach.

ESPN spoke with Nelson Stewart about LSU’s Brian Kelly and he had high praise for Kelly and for LSU.

“No coach has come through and made as strong of an impression as Brian Kelly. He has a humility and authenticity when you meet him. You feel like you’ve known him forever.”

Manning’s coach also had high praise for LSU and the prestige the university carries.

“An LSU offer is the prestigious offer. When kids get that offer, it’s very, very special. LSU has the tradition, facilities and recruiting the camaraderie. It’s a very special place. It does sell itself. When LSU football is rolling, I don’t think there’s anything as exciting in the state of Louisiana.”

This could just be a coach praising the man in charge of the local college program to either help his players get recruited or to land himself a job on that coach’s staff. However, this could mean that Manning’s high school coach is going to be pushing LSU during his recruitment.

It seems Arch Manning’s recruitment is constantly having new wrinkles added to it.
