The Washington Commanders just can’t stay out of the news cycle, can they? Maybe that will change once a new owner finally takes over the team.
After everything the franchise has endured with Dan Synder in charge, it sounds like some trouble is still brewing. This time with franchise legends, the Hogs.
According to JP Finlay, the Hogs are suing the Commanders and Dan Snyder over trademark issues regarding their nickname. For anyone not familiar with the Hogs, they are the group of players that formed the offensive line for the franchise in the late 80s and early 90s.
Here are more details regarding their lawsuit against the Commanders.
Can’t make this up – original Hogs suing the Commanders. Wow. Riggins, Jacoby. This is real. pic.twitter.com/NoazjEBXdd

It seems to be an odd move from each of the former offensive linemen for Washington. Especially considering their claim that the Commanders’ team name makes it a new franchise. We’re not sure if these former players have a legitimate case or not. However, the fanbase seems pretty upset by their decision.
Ridiculous. Unbelievably selfish and petty by those guys.

This seems to be the consensus opinion on the situation.
Haha, I hate Danny as much as the next guy but that lawsuit has no chance

We’ll see how it plays out, but the fanbase sure doesn’t like this news.
The hogs brand doesn’t belong to these players, did they trademark it? The players look bad picking this fight…

Keep an eye on this situation as this is another situation for Commanders fans to go through. Maybe if the team is sold this all goes away. But we won’t know that until it actually happens.
