BYU and Houston played a football game to determine which school has the superior Cougar mascot. BYU won, but not without coming this close to choking away a 23-point lead.
Houston’s spectacular Hail Mary just before halftime was a result of a bullet throw from quarterback John O’Korn and complete apathy from BYU defenders, who allowed Daniel Spencer to stand wide open in the corner of the end zone. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen such woeful Hail Mary defense. Usually these things are completed after a freak deflection. In this case, Spencer had enough room to stretch his legs out and read a newspaper before going up for the grab.
