If you ever needed further proof that it’s good to be QB1, all you have to do is look at Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff’s life.
After a successful college career at Cal, Jared Goff was the first overall by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2016 NFL Draft following his junior year (despite going 0–12 against Stanford, UCLA, USC, and Oregon).
He’s earned over $135 million during his seven years in the NFL with the Rams and Lions. He even made it to a Super Bowl.
Now we come to find out, as if Goff isn’t blessed enough, he met his Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model fiancée Christen Harper on a freaking dating app.
“We met on a dating app,” she said in a ‘Get To Know’ video for her podcast series Women of the League awhile back. “We are a dating app success story.”
“I wasn’t really looking for anything at the time,” the 2022 SI Swimsuit co-Rookie of the Year continued. “We were just kind of like, I was just kind of being single and having fun and I met him through the dating app and he was very persistent trying to take me on a date but I wasn’t really like looking for that. But he kept trying and trying and finally it was like a Thursday night, I was like, ‘okay, I have nothing else to do, I might as well go on a date,’ literally.
“He picked me up and I was like, ‘oh shoot, like, dang it, I’m… he got me.’ From that moment on we were like, we just talked every day since then and yeah, now it’s been like almost four years.”
Christen Harper really likes telling this story. She also shared it in a promo video for her podcast.
“I met Jared on a dating app,” she told Katie Austin, 2022 SI Swimsuit co-Rookie of the Year and the daughter of famous fitness guru Denise Austin. “It’s called Raya and I was truly not looking for anything at the time. I had just gotten out of a long relationship and I was like, trying to stay single for a year. And then I met him and the rest is history, baby.”
Apparently, according to Harper, Austin also met her man on a dating app.
We are all definitely using the wrong dating apps.
