With all of the talk about how dominant Scottie Scheffler is right now, and make no mistake about it, Scottie is operating on another planet compared to the rest of the field, but it’s worth looking back at how truly dominant Tiger Woods‘ 2000 season was in comparison.

In the 2000 PGA Tour season, Tiger Woods had 11 wins, never missed a cut, and only finished outside the top 10 three times. Tiger Woods took home $10,703,749 in 2000 for his other worldly performance but since then tournament purses have gone through the roof.

Jamie Kennedy is the Digital Content Director for Golf Digest and calculated how much Tiger Woods’ 2000 season would be worth in 2024 money. This isn’t adjusting for inflation, it is merely adding up Tiger’s 2000 results in the same tournaments in 2024. As an example, Eldrick earned $235,428 for winning the Dubai Desert Classic in 2000 but this year that win would be worth $1.5+ million.

If that image is hard to read, a larger version of it can be seen here on X, but I’ll break it down for you all in the meantime. And for further context, here is how much each of the tournament purses have gone up since 2000:

In 2000, Tiger Woods won $10,703,749. If he replicated those same results in 2024 with the 2024 tournament purses, Tiger would win $48,333,970 just from tournaments.

That alone would put Tiger 15th on the PGA Tour’s all time money list. Just that one season. But that’s not all of the money!

The PGA Tour now has the Regular Season Bonus of which Tiger would be awarded $4,000,000. He would also earn another $25,000,000 for his FedEx Cup Bonus. And there would then be another $15,000,000 from the Player Impact Bonus.

In total, if Tiger’s 2000 season happened in 2024 he would earn $92,333,970 which would put him at #2 on the PGA Tour’s All Time Money List only trailing himself (#1 at $120.9M).
