The Dallas Cowboys are set to take on the Tampa Bay Bucs in the NFC Wild Card round on Monday, January 16. If Dallas can pull off the victory against Tom Brady’s Bucs, they’ll be one more win away from the NFC Championship, a game they haven’t played in over 25 years.

Since Dallas’ last NFC Championship game in 1995 — the Troy Aikman-led Cowboys beat Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers 38-27 before going on to win the Super Bowl —  the world has changed quite a bit. Here are some examples to give you an idea of just how long it’s been:

  • Bill Clinton was the President of the United States.
  • Ja Morant, Luka Doncic, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and Kylian Mbappe were not alive.
  • Emailing was a new technology.
  • Steve Jobs was working on the NeXT computer and not at Apple.
  • Smartphones were over a decade away from being invented.
  • The Rock had yet to make his WWF debut.
  • The Top 5 highest-grossing movies that year were: Die Hard with a Vengeance, Toy Story, Apollo 13, GoldenEye, and Pocahontas.
  • The song atop Billboard’s Year-End Hot 100 Singles was Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise.”
  • The most recent Marvel film was 1986’s Howard the Duck. Marvel, by the way, was about a year away from filing for Chapter 11.

Dak Prescott and the 12-5 Dallas Cowboys will take on Tom Brady and the 8-9 Tampa Bay Bucs for their NFC Wild Card game on Monday, January 16.

The other NFC Wild Card matchups feature the Seattle Seahawks taking on their NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks on Saturday afternoon (the first game of Wild Card weekend) and the New York Giants taking on the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday evening. The 14-3 Philadelphia Eagles, the #1 overall seed in the conference, have a bye week.

Over in the AFC, the Jaguars will host the Chargers on Saturday night before the Bills play the Dolphins on Sunday afternoon and the Bengals face off against the Ravens on Sunday night.
