Arkansas continues to be one of the worst programs in college football and fans want Hunter Yurachek to be fired. They created a diabolical plan to force the university to remove its athletic director from his role by storming the field.
It does not matter whether the Razorbacks win or lose.
If we are being honest, this probably isn’t going to work. There aren’t enough fans in the crowd at college football games anyway!
Hunter Yurachek was hired at Arkansas in 2017.
Coastal Carolina gave Hunter Yurachek his first opportunity as an athletic director in 2010. He was named as the FCS Athletic Director of the Year in 2014. Houston hired him to the same role in 2015. Arkansas hired him two years later.
Yuracheck is in his ninth year in his current role. Although the Razorbacks won national championships in track and field, reached three-straight Sweet Sixteens in men’s basketball, reached the Women’s College World Series for the first time in softball, and finished as the runner-up in baseball, they have not won a lot of games on the gridiron since 2017. And, no matter how successful a team might be in other sports, college football is what matters most.
Arkansas went 4-20 in two years with Chad Morris as head coach, finished with a losing record in three of Sam Pittman’s six years as head coach, and began the 2026 season at 2-3 with blowout losses to Texas A&M, Georgia and Utah in Ryan Silverfield’s first year as head coach. Not great.
Yuracheck was hired in December 2017 with a salary of $850,000. He is currently making $1.5 million per year. If we are to do that math, Arkansas paid its athletic director approximately 10 million in total since he was hired. The results aren’t there.
The Razorbacks had three winless seasons in the SEC during Yurachek’s tenure. This season could easily be the fourth. To make matters worse, they have not had a winning season in the SEC since he was hired. They have not won an SEC game in more than 700 days.
Maybe Silverfield will be able to lead the Hogs back to relevance in the next few years. It seems unlikely.
Fans are going to storm the field until the athletic director is fired.
Fans are fed up with losing and their poor attendance at college football games is a clear indicator of the moral in Fayetteville. It sounds like they are not alone.
The University of Arkansas Board of Trustees called for a “review of the state of competitiveness of Razorback Athletics, including steps to improve the resources available to the football program” in September. A recent report from Best of Arkansas Sports also claims that support amongst the trustees is gone. They are reportedly split 7-3 in favor of a change at athletic director.
That specific report has since been refuted. The Chuck & Bo Show claims it was completely false.
Regardless of how the Board of Trustees feel, the fans want Hunter Yurachek gone. They even came up with a plan to get him fired by storming the field after every football game— win, lose or tie.
The Southeastern Conference actually changed its fine system for storming the field in 2025. It eliminated the escalating fine system ($100,000 for the first offense, $250,000 for the second, and $500,000 for the third) to impose a flat fine of $500,000. Any team that storms the field will be fined half a million dollars. That is true for the first field storm and the 100th field storm.
Arkansas has four remaining home games. If the fans can get on board with this new plan and storm the field after all four home games, they would cost the university $2 million. They would certainly get their point across! Especially because the Razorbacks are probably going to lose at least three of the four games to Tennessee, Missouri and LSU.
