The Florida Panthers shocked the world after securing a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals on Wednesday night with a Game 4 win over the Carolina Hurricane.

Carolina was favored to win that series, but they failed to even win a single game after getting swept by Florida.

After the contest, Hurricane head coach, Rod Brind’Amour, addressed the media and made some comments that got hockey fans buzzing.

According to Sportsnet, Brind’Amour claimed, “The unfortunate part of this is we’re going to look back and everyone’s going to say we got swept and that’s not what happened.”

The Panthers literally won the series 4-0, resulting in a sweep. Having said that, here is the Hurricanes’ head coach defending his point.

Look, the guy is trying to be optimistic. To be fair, the Panthers won every single game in this series by just a single goal, which is just brutal for the Hurricanes.

Clearly, Rod Brind’Amour is explaining that the series was a lot closer than what it appears. Regardless, hockey fans let him have it.

With all due respect.

I think he does, though.

Okay, this guy might have a point.

Me, every Friday.

The series proved to be in the Panthers’ favor, as the Hurricanes just couldn’t surpass them in a single game.

They fought hard, but fell short. With that said, Florida awaits to see who they will play in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Tune into Game 4 between the Las Vegas Nights and Dallas Stars on Thursday night at 8 P.M. Eastern. If Vegas wins, then they will clinch the series with a sweep of their own.
