The University of Idaho is not very good at basketball this year. The Vandals are 8-22 in the regular season with one game left and will have to make a miraculous run in the Big Sky Tournament to have any chance at the postseason.

That didn’t stop a few passionate fans from having a great time at a game, going viral in the process.

On Thursday night, Idaho hosted Portland State at ICCU Arena in Moscow, Idaho. It was a home game for the Vandals and, despite their record, the crowd was not nearly as sparse as one might expect. There isn’t a whole lot happening in Moscow, so a basketball game is a great social outing with the fellas.

Well, three fans in particular had a different agenda. They weren’t really there for the game, they were there to celebrate.

Directly behind the ESPN broadcast team of Joe St. Pierre and Ben Creighton sat three, rowdy Vandals. They were well within the shot every time that the camera cut to the two announcers at the scorer’s table.

They knew exactly what they were doing.

The three Idaho fans, beer in hand, brought their Fall 2021 Co-Ed Intramural Softball Championship plaque to the game to celebrate. They even wore their team shirt jerseys. It was a power move unlike we have ever seen before.

Here’s a better look at the plaque:
